Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp scallions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp gochujang optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the Bulgogi Marinade: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved and everything is nicely blended. If you want a little spice, now’s the time to add the gochujang, just stir it in for that extra kick.
  • Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up into small pieces as it browns. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Once the beef is fully cooked and browned, drain any excess fat if necessary.
  • Combine the Beef and Marinade: Once the beef is cooked, lower the heat to medium. Pour the prepared marinade over the beef and stir to coat all the meat evenly. Let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes, allowing the beef to soak up all the delicious flavors of the bulgogi sauce.
  • Finish and Serve: When the beef is perfectly coated and the sauce has thickened slightly, remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the scallions for a bit of crunch and fresh flavor.
